How much reading do you do?
Now with the weather changing I would imagine that people who love to read love this time of year and their hands (and itchy eyes) are just itching to get a hold of a good novel. Tell me I'm wrong! I'm not! I do enjoy a good book mostly biographies of photographers, artists and people of special interest like the Queen and other influential people. Ahh...People and The Inquirer do not count. As I sit here in my bedroom early evening before heading out I am at my desk and

Shiver me timbers!
With the temperature getting down to about freezing this morning Finn and Fergus were not looking forward to going outside and letting it all hang out. I mean, this is serious business when your junk is hitting that wall of cold the second you step all four legs out the door and the shrinkage effect is instantaneous and you struggle to get the first few dribbles out. I can't say I exactly know what it is like to be naked and going outside in freezing conditions just to squi
They help keep the weight off
OK...so not the most interesting post but I have to say that during the summer I was a lot "thinner" or at least felt like I was since we walked a lot, at least 4-5 walks a day and now I see that we are a bit less active and I think we all need to get back into the good habit of walking. During our walk yesterday I noticed a truck with the company name "Mr. Hubbard's Hounds" a dog walking and training mobile service. How cool! With my schedule getting busier and the boys n

Is it a bird, a plane...Hello No...
It was a Coyote! So, I was driving home near a park where I grew up and looking around like I usually do (No, I wasn't texting) and on the left side of the road I thought I saw a German Shepard just chilling on the side of the road and I would see the owner somewhere near the dog but when looking at it a bit longer (I was only going about 25 mph so had plenty of time to make a positive identity) I noticed that he was sniffing the air, raising his head toward the sky and snif

No matter the number...it's too many
Not that you have the time to look up or research anything related to the life and longevity of dogs but I have found myself doing such things lately for my blog and the numbers are just too big! Over 10,000 animals are killed everyday which is a number to some may not seem like a lot but if you take that number and multiply it by days, weeks, months and years you get a number that could be the population of a small town, Or you could take 10,000 steps which would be 5 mi

These boyzz are crazy...but so am I
I think you would agree that when you have a dog or two or if more than that YOU are crazy that there are moments of absolute Joy, Love and yes Craziness! But like most people myself included would not change a thing. With love you can't exactly say or tell someone (but maybe the love stops with some people) "hey, not so much love now but maybe in an hour when I am done with this one project". It just doesn't work that way. When you hear that saying, "if you had a chance

For the love of Dog!
I must say having a dog or dogs (depending on how much craziness and love you want) is one of the most enriching experiences a human can have. Like humans the feelings and emotions can be as loving and complicated as people but we wouldn't change a thing because that is what makes life...BEAUTIFUL! Now as of late I have been having more of the frustration of relationship than peace and quiet and by the way peace and quiet can be overrated. But with me being gone so much t

How much $money$ does it take?
To operate a dog shelter or rescue each month. Now of course cost varies from shelter to shelter based on several factors like size, city state and services provided. I Googled "how much money does it take to operate a shelter/rescue?" The two examples I found were $20,000 and $50,000 and that is per month. I can see why so many organizations are asking for funding all the time and that is one of the reasons why I want to be a part of the solution...with you! There is no

DAISY...How could you not smile with a name like that?
The first of October and a beautiful morning it is. I guess you could say that I am always on lookout for dogs anywhere and everywhere i go and this morning I find Daisy a Treeing Walker Coonhound and her walking partner. Like people all dogs have a story and Daisy too has one that is as unique as she is. Sometimes a dog doesn't find its permanent right away and sometimes it is difficult for them to adjust and find that love and companionship they want and need. But I am h
